Here's a pretty surprisingly straight 1981 Volvo 240 recently plucked from a side of a mountain. Was parked for over the last two decades. Has been recently cleaned out. The Engine was stuck so I pulled to head to further investigate. It had some light surface rust in #1 cly. I was able to soak with ATF and clean up the cylinder. Freed up. Now engine rotates full 180. I do believe it will run. These automatics were pretty reliable aswell. (3spd with no OD) My plans are to keep for parts. but before I part out here's a chance for someone to put back on the road. I personally would convert to a carburetor and send it. $750 it's yours. It's definitely a project but has potential. I've had several old Volvos and there is a reason you still see them on the roads today. Also perfect sleeper if decided to go that route. they are basically swedish tanks. Dana 30 rear with LS. 4 wheel disc brakes with dual piston calipers. 3 link rear suspension.
